Library News
Library and Information Week was celebrated during Week 16 with many and varied lunchtime activities taking place. Using the theme of “Imagine” as inspiration, students had the opportunity to become involved in activities that otherwise they would never have considered. Students could use their imagination to create music using a digital DJ deck and turntable; listen to, and be a part of, singing and guitar playing; learn how to create stick figure movies using Pivot; learn how to braid hair and listen to Indigenous Dreamtime stories. All these sessions were run by students and we would like to thank Justin, Braydon, Regan, Allie, Karen, Isaac, Karlos, Chloe and Khadija for their leadership and organisation in running these lunchtime sessions. On Friday, all the students involved in the Premier’s Reading Challenge had the opportunity to attend a Meet and Greet and we celebrated Library and Information Week with cake and conversation. It was May Madness month in the Library with 1,767 users outside of class time—ie before school, first and second break and after school. Not to mention the classes that have been working on assessment during class time! We are so pleased to have such great use of the Library and we look forward to more students visiting us and using this fabulous resource. We are always here to help. Just a reminder to use our CMEWeb for research for any of your assignments. Go to http://inghamshs.cmeweb.libcode.com.au. “Google-bashing’ is not an effective research technique!
